All Shook Up: Finding Freedom Through God's Transformative Power

When God wants to move powerfully in our lives, He often needs to shake things up first. Just as Haggai urged the people to rebuild the temple so God could dwell among them, we too need to allow God to shake loose the things holding us back from experiencing His full presence.

Why Does God Need to Shake Things Up?

We often get stuck focusing on just one piece of life's puzzle - our hurts, failures, or current struggles. But God sees the full 5,000-piece picture. When we hold onto past pain, unforgiveness, or our own limited perspective, we prevent God from doing the deeper work He wants to do.

What Happens When God Shakes Us?

When God shakes things up in our lives:

    • Old things that need to fall away can finally drop off
    • Fresh growth and new fruit can emerge
    • We experience true freedom and peace
    • Our relationship with God deepens
    • We gain His perspective instead of staying stuck in our own

How Do We Respond to God's Shaking?

We have two choices when God starts shaking things up:

      • Resist and try to maintain control
      • Surrender and allow Him to remove what needs to go

The key is being willing to let go of

        • Past hurts and offenses
        • Our own limited understanding
        • The need to control outcomes
        • Unhealthy patterns and behaviors

        What Does Victory Look Like?

        True victory comes when we:

          • Live in freedom rather than bondage to the past
          • Experience God's peace regardless of circumstances
          • Grow in spiritual fruit like love, joy and patience
          • Draw closer to God daily
          • Impact others through our transformed lives

          Life Application

          This week, ask yourself:

            • What old things am I holding onto that God wants to shake loose?
            • Am I willing to let go of control and trust God's bigger picture?
            • Where do I need God's transforming power to bring new growth?

Challenge: Identify one area where you've been resistant to God's shaking and purposefully surrender it to Him this week. Ask Him to help you release your grip on that situation, relationship, or past hurt so He can bring His freedom and peace.

Remember - when God shakes things up, it's always to bring something better. Trust His process and allow Him to do the deep work needed to transform your life from the inside out.

I hated the world I left the church which I really didn't belong or believe in the first place, I always believed in do as I say don't do as I do, stayed off the grid for 1 year. It wasn't until 2012 in a small town church that God got me to my knees He literally smacked me on the head and said you're not saved! I got right with Him I accepted Jesus Christ got baptized. Moved to Springfield, MO married in 2019, after trying 3 times before, each time a bitter divorce due to my addiction, but now my wife Mary, and I live in El Dorado Springs MO and attend the Hill here in town God has blessed us constantly, out of all this God did give me a beautiful daughter who lives with me along with her fiance, my 9 year old granddaughter and 2 year grandson.
